Do you have Damage to your home in Northern Michigan due to a wind storm or fallen tree?
Has your home suffered damage from a significant wind storm or fallen tree? Shards of glass, tree branches and other debris can sometimes be more damaging than the wind itself. When inspecting your roof after a wind event, investigate what might have blown onto or across the roof. It is a good idea to check for damage and any punctures to your roof in order to prevent any secondary damages such as water damage due to the rain. Check gutters and downspouts as debris can easily clog them and create other headaches down the road. It is important to inspect your trees in your yard frequently and keep them trimmed to prevent dead trees and hanging limbs, as these can cause damage during wind storms. Tree branches touching a roof will scratch and gouge roofing materials when the branches are blown by the wind. Falling branches from overhanging trees can damage, or even puncture, shingles and other roofing materials. Dead trees can fall and be uprooted causing significant damage to outbuildings and your home.
It is important too if a tree or branch causes a puncture to your roof that you get it protected and boarded up which we can help with.
